Susan Davis
“Hi, my name is Susan!” That is all the introduction you will need or receive before Ms. Gay Pride 2009-2010 whisks you off to get you involved. Imposing just doesn’t quite cover it when you mention Susan Davis. She is kind, committed, and generous and- works to her last breath, LITERALLY! Ms Davis may be dragging along an oxygen tank, but that doesn’t even slow her down. Whether she is performing on stage to one of her energetic show tunes, or working security at the back gate at Pride, she is always there, always working, and ALWAYS GIVES HER ALL!
Susan Davis has devoted over ten years to the benefit of others. When it comes to raising money, Susan will do whatever it takes. Collecting aluminum cans, saving the change she finds when helping clean up after events, building wig head racks, Susan is always thinking of ways to help-and she recycles! In addition to her duties as Ms Pride, Susan is an active member of the community. Susan has served on several Royal Families for the Imperial Court, and has raised money for Flower of Hope for the transgendered community and proudly carries several past titles.
We are Proud of Susan and thank her for the hard work and selfless generosity she has given PRIDE. Susan herself, is truly a candle that lights the darkness for others and ignites hope!

Reinn Skie
There she goes, down the runway! Yes, she looks like a model, but she is Reinn Skie, Miss Gay Pride 2009-2010. Whether bartending, working a breakfast, or dancing in a pair of stilettos on stage, Reinn Skie always shows her PRIDE. Working full time and carrying the title of Miss Pride can be a daunting task, but Reinn rose to the occasion and assisted in fundraising efforts for past year. Performing dazzling numbers on stage, or waiting tables at Pride Breakfasts , Reinn was there, always smiling and always working. Her creative performances and dance moves always wowed the audiences, and her winning smile kept the crowds supportive and generous. Ever the tease, Reinn worked the crowds like the true show girl she is giving all this energy to create the 2010 Nebraska Pride Festival for YOU!
Nebraska Pride thanks Reinn for all her hard work and determination this past year. Reinn Skie is a candle in the darkness , igniting hope for acceptance for all! |

Pride Award of ExcellenceTM
Nebraska GLBT Pride has evolved from a silent candlelight march in 1985 to a major 3-day Celebration, over 20 years later, which attracts thousands of persons from across the Midwest region. Hard work, dedication and lots of belief in community have helped accomplish what we now celebrate each June as Nebraska Pride.
Rainbow Celebrations proudly recognizes a special honoree with the annual Pride Award of Excellence as a way of acknowledging them for their part in our ongoing struggle for equality in Nebraska. The Executive Board of Rainbow Celebrations bestows the Award, established in 2002, to pay homage to an individual, organization or business that has directly effected, affected or advanced the cause of Nebraska GLBT Pride through their service, work, donations, and/or dedication.
